"Sau Gut" was my second album in Germany. The concept was a little bit more pop than Hazzazar. Yet it features some great Jazz musicians like New York saxophonist Andy Middleton and Austrian saxophonist Heinrich von Kalnein. You can hear Andy on "Ich dreh' mich nicht im Kreis" and "Loslassen". Heinrich is featured on "Nur bei dir". Their performances were basically first takes. I love to combine the more rigid concept of Pop music with the free element of Jazz.

The tenor lines that I wrote for trombone on "Hazzazar" became Cello lines on "Sau Gut" In the opening tune I doubled a cello quartet and added clarinet master Pierre Paquette. His wife Elaine plays the Cello with Cologne Cellist Thomas Steudel.
